Please do not send your prek-2nd students in open-toed shoes. 3rd-12th students should come to school in shoes that fit their feet snugly and support their movements.  If your daughter wears skirts to school, they must wear shorts under the skirt or wear skorts.  Students in the 3rd-12th classroom are REQUIRED to wear uniforms: (solid colored polo or fully buttoned collared shirt of any color; solid colored black/navy/khaki bottoms or dresses; shirts must be tucked into pants; shoes should not have designs or alot of colors).  On Fridays, students are NOT required to wear uniforms.  Please see your parent handbook for appropriate attire to wear on "dress down" days.

                              • The students in this classroom do their work online, but also have plenty of hands-on experiences throughout the day.
                              • If your child misses class for whatever reason, they are responsible for making up their work, on their on time.  if you know that your child will be planning to miss some class time, please work with them to work ahead before their absence or work with them to get caught up following the absence.
                              • Your child will have a sheet listing websites and their passwords to those sites, please communicate with your child to receive that list.  You, the parent, are encouraged to login and view your child's academic progress online, no paper progress reports will be sent home.
                              • Students may work on their classroom work at home, but quizzes and/or tests may NOT be taken at home.  Students are encouraged to take notes in all subject areas because they are allowed to use their handwritten notes during quizzes and tests.
                              • Students have several Science projects throughout the year.  Students may check at school for materials they need to complete projects, but if they need additional items, it is their responsibility to communicate the need to their parents and bring in the items for their project.  Many of the projects a accompanied by videos in case the student cannot get the needed supplies for the project.
                              • If you have a complaint or concern about your child's classroom/teacher, the first step in your communication should be with your child's teacher.  Teachers are human and are not expected to be perfect, and they are great, but cannot read minds.  If you have a concern, please talk with your child's teacher first and if it cannot be resolved, you may schedule time to consult the director, Roxanne Knight, for assistance.  Your child's teacher is in the classroom with your child all day long and will have answers to your questions that the Director will not have.  Please remember that each teacher is different and possess their own set of gifts and talents, so please avoid comparing your child's new teacher with their old teacher.  Please take the time to get to know the new teacher and allow time for the teacher to get to know you and your child.  Remember, a teacher has several people they must learn about during transitions, you only have 1, the teacher.  Besides complaints or concerns, please remember to tell your child's teacher about the things she is doing well.  People tend to work better and harder when they feel appreciated.
